Hello,

I am searching for my grandmother in law from Davidov, Slovakia. Her name was Anna Pacutova and she was married to Juraj Hriczik. They had at least five children, George, Maria, Anna, Alzberta and Susan.  These are names that the family remembers. Her children were born >1891 - 1896 (This is just an estimate.) If anyone can help me locate any surviving descendants, I will be overwhelmed. I notice that a Maria Pacutova has written to this web site from Davidov. Hopefully, she will have some knowledge of the family I mention.

Thank you

Thanks for your response. I will write to Maria. BTW, the location where many of the Bartko's and Pacutas came in Pennsylvania was to a farm in Barnsboro in Cambria County. They worked on the farm until they were settled in the US. I have been trying to locate this farm where my father-in-law, George Hricik and his wife, Elizabeth Bartko met and married after arriving in the US. In reading your most interesting story on your web site, I see that you could not decipher "Cambria " on the passenger list for a Bartko. I have the passenger list and the census and it is definitely "Cambria". I am under the impression that George and Elizabeth must have known one another in Davidov.

You mention many with the given name of Paul and, in fact, my husband was also Paul. He was killed in a construction accident when the children were very young  and I promised my children I would find out their heritage....and so began my quest almost five years ago without a scratch of documentation or records.

Thanks again.

Joan
